D’ determination worked

dot at 6 in morning to start,

being late not acceptable,

to be behind day’s schedule

Leaving four lane highway

our car calmly raced on,

on curvy clean hilly road

looking like
 a neck wound python

Vehicles in tremendous speed,

scurrying fast from either side

daring monkeys with their kids,

on middle of road, least worried

Overtook several autos on road

overladen with ingredient load,

cut bamboo, grocery, commuters,

 even fire wood stacked together

Upside down chickens hanging,

ankles knotted in tough strings

eye balls turning, gaze awkward

upside down, a different world!

 for diverse view offered a chance

before executing death sentence

Spent few memorable moments

in a pretty dam’s pumping point,

few moron plants standing erect

dark trunks with dry branches

Immersed in aching thought,

where d' days of greenery lost

now no leaf, buds, no flowers,

no butterflies, no singing birds

no more drizzles, no rainbow,

the end of life’s colorful show

Before ascent of d' hill track,

d' amazing standing breakfast

of course in military fashion,

chatting and eating in unison

Unwinding the thread,

unwrapping paper cover

gobbled up hot idlys and

gulped chilled mineral water

Way to water fall through

hilly range of Maredumilli ,

numerous ups and downs

akin to someones life story

A bout of torrential rain

made the track slippery,

extra careful guys skidded

trying to get down in hurry

Muddy lap of hill accepts

any one pulled by gravity,
all treated as living beings
no prejudice, no partiality

For a dip in pool of water

down the stream,

 trouser sleeves folded

with bounty enthusiasm

Snaps while down in d' water

 and got up d' slope with care,

 captured entire scene in cells

until memory fully exhausted

No extra dress, wet dress on,

wet hair open, dry on its own

wavering in air, not to bother

unplanned bath, ample cheer

On way back to Rajahmundry
 to unravel d’ cooking mystery

in a hut watched entire scene

each step seemed too amazing

Work began once order placed

chicken chopped, pieces made

soaked in paste of ginger garlic

dusted chilly, pepper, turmeric 

Stuffed in fresh bamboo shoot

aligned on flame of firewood,

 banana leaves to plug d' ends

   chicken's steam not to escape  

Provoking aroma, terrific taste

nonveg. dish, cholesterol less

No water, butter or oil to cook

needs a note in Guinness book

Nature nurtures d' chicken

a bird species never ending,

Bamboo shoots for stuffing

and firewood for d' cooking

Tourist folk flung to relish,

famed bamboo chicken dish

hot steaming chicken,

a palate pleasing item

with sliced tomato, onion,

coriander leaf and lemon

Consumed to be replenished

renewable stock not finished

Bird herds do never deplete

no risk ever of getting extinct

Bamboo bushes regenerate

 reserve of forest firewood,

trade unending to continue

several families’ livelihood

An out standing mission

not just for sight seeing,

to explore bamboo chicken,

 its delicacy to aptly define
