How much U make out of it?

In Hospital’s broad corridor,

stood a bracket of doctors

enthused, all dazzling faces

young, no sign of tiredness

Surgeons, ophthalmologists

Obstetricians, psychiatrists

Professionals chitchatting!

each,

a money making machine

A mere degree in medicine!

status, authority in no time

From a bunch of shirtless chaps

one banian clad ventured fast

wolfish smile clung to his lips

a real threat to public peace

flouted norms, came ahead

in jeer words the joker said,

"bought a degree so lucrative

how much u make out of it?"

The query put in a rowdy way,

no one intent for an apt reply

too absurd, carries no meaning

its futile to answer d' question

one doctor cool came forward,

while the others felt awkward

Not hesitant, no iota of shame

keen to reply on behalf of them

Eager to know amount spent!,

how much made out of that?

Fully immune to your mimicry

its not a mere doctors degree

Can hold hand of your spouse

groaning listlessly on a couch

desolate,in a prolonged labor

baby in distress, can't deliver

push to theatre for a cesarean

save life of your wife and son

have u ever realized a bit of it

that's what we make out of it

Your father gets a pain in chest

I skip dinner, treat, stay awake

to alleviate colic of your child

ceaselessly crying entire night

Your grandpa’s loss of vision

a cataract surgery I can plan

make fit to play with progeny

dispel from d' blind man agony

ever ready to help, if u solicit

that's what we make out of it

Doctors too are human beings,

with tender heart, soft feelings

more compassionate, too kind

ignore the trivial, never mind

perceive well, soul's suffering

life the utmost precious thing

tricky to overhaul d' body parts

surgery blend of anxiety & arts

we follow ethics, serve d' sick

that's what we make out of it

Good work goes on, won’t halt

ought to end d' deficit of trust

entire disbelief, misconception

of an unsafe, risky profession

 titanic tension in patient care

occupied ever in his welfare

Multiple risks,tons of hassles

to see smile in patient’s face

 never wait for belief-disbelief

that's what we make out of it

If d' security folk bash you up,

as sanction of your ill conduct

boldness leaks, u still defiant,

to approach me a bit hesitant

your oozing wounds I'll stitch

that's what we make out of it
