Patience is d' essence

Children were much excited,

to get toffee from class-teacher

too unexpected, out of d’ blue

for no occasion what's so over

so attractive, so colourful,

it ought to be too delicious

but can’t unwrap to find out

d’ hidden treasure precious

Heartlessly she announced,

"look, don’t attempt to eat it

at least for next 10 minutes,

 keep it intact in closed fist" 

She walked out of class room,

rushed somewhere in a hurry

kids gave a panic look at her,

a silent class told their worry

Opened d’ fists, saw d’ toffee,

it’s tough to control the desire

time is passing in gentle pace,

when10 minutes spell be over?

She came back, time ended,

wished to review d’ true status

only seven in the entire class,

found with toffees untouched

Others found chewing toffees,

relishing the taste and flavor

commenting on the softness,

delighted to eat up to d’ core

She secretly noted d’ names

of  d’ 7 in her personal diary

after few years Prof. Walter

reviewed, revealed the story

Attained success in their lives,

after various prolong struggles

among d' stalwarts in own fields,

gained an evident notable status

She reviewed rest of their mates,

a usual life led by most of them

some faced a budgetary crunch,

social distress and live in shame

Patience is a curious calibre,

upsurges d’ vigor of a person

he seldom gets downhearted,

to tackle any critical situation

Ten minutes, a miniature time,

to bear with it, if no endurance
