It’s d’ incessant rain

Get me a bucket of water,
he yelled at his daughter
Back from fatiguing work,
wished to wash,
mud smeared hands,
 face and body parts
Totally tired,
yet a smile clung to lips,
at least a job,
 for next few weeks
A road making, in d’ hill slopes,
any damn work,  a ray of hope
Cutting trees, scooping, digging,
dredging and earth leveling,
He’s engaged,
to assist heavy machines,
upkeep of tools and cleaning,
A livelihood till d’ work’s on
no worries for a short span,
Wages paid daily at day break
no words in stock, to thank God,
 for all d’ happiness
Cleaned soiled body parts,
got in to his thatched hut
A tiny lamp’s dim light,
 life appears quiet tough
Children trying homework,
unfinished task yet enough
assured to buy a solar lamp,
a dire need for study comfort
No queries any further,
excited kids hugged dad dear
“Awaited some great news”,
his wife told,
pointing at d’ dark clouds
A rain adjudged auspicious,
good showers,
a blessing of rain Gods
After dinner,
over d’ thatch spread out,
 a plastic sheet cover
To avert a leak,
 during heavy rain,
a restful sleep,
 after d’ diurnal strain
If work goes on,
for a couple of months,
thatch to be replaced,
 with leak proof asbestos
Woes ought to reduce,
dreams started flying high,
prayed with folded hands,
gazing towards d’ dark sky
Good days ahead not to worry,
went to sleep d’ whole family
Total village in sleep,
surroundings utterly quiet,
rain unstoppable,
 poured entire night
Felled trees, hurt earth,
a loose soil seepage,
caused an abrupt land slide,
 perished entire village
Sweet dreams devastated,
high hopes buried,
valued dwellings vanished,
 beneath vast debris
Rescue team reached,
early  next morning,
to locate if any,
 human soul surviving
But it’s only,
 heaps of soil and debris
engulfed all humans,
even d’ domestics
Media men, politicians gathered,
deforestation,
earth digging ignored
For d’ ghastly tragedy,
 human ventures never blamed,
“It’s d’ incessant rain”, they claimed

If I was a kid again

Boarded time train,
but felt quite awkward,
Oh my good God!
in alacrity,
it sped backwards

Arrived in childhood days……
“wake up dear,
wash your face", mom says
A shower first,
then a brief break fast,
Put up school dress,
its time for school bus”
Papa waved good bye,
left for his office
I said a bye,
and by chance I noticed
thin hands, slim fingers, truly a kid
books in back pack,
water bottle, lunch box in deed

Back from school, asked mom,
“cooking something in kitchen,
for so long”
She queried, what do I wish
“Potato parathha or
grilled sandwich with sliced cheese
Would you like bread & butter,
or a chapati coriander egg roll
Get ready for tomorrow any way,
finish home work,
then permitted to play”
Studies d’ only urgent thing!,
lovely butterflies in garden,
 can’t I run behind
Won’t watch gutsy chicks,
 in hen’s custody
not to dance in rains,
nor to mumble a parody
Not to rive notebooks,
  make paper boats
and in water puddles,
 to make those float
Wish to urge the fairy,
 who meets me in tales,
to keep in steady touch,
and come, if I’m unwell
To look in to,
 wall mounted mirror,
d’ little girl in me,
 her facial gesture
Wish to spend more time with dad,
my dad, d’ best dad in the world
To be lifted out of sofa to his arms,
whisper in his ear, all my wants
Ceaseless  horns from times train,
a halt, through signal not given
Kidhood liberty at its abrupt end,
instantly back to,
prototype grown up days
A fast life,
a pack of stress and strain
strongly feel, if I was a kid again

Right behind you

If ever,

 your heart gets shattered,

left half way,

 bruised and battered

Don’t U worry darling dear,

call me in a voice clear,

My doors always un-shut for U,

wide open all through

U’ll find me, right behind U

To green trees, you may ask,

ask chirping birds on their branch

Talk to flowers,

 chat with their flavor

speak to bees,

 busy gathering nectar

With silvery moon, do discuss,

twinkling stars evidently consult

never forget to query,

 the moonlit night,

who cares for your cause,

 who use to fight

always comes to your rescue,

U’ll find me, right behind u

Don’t ignore conscience crunch,

hide not your moral haunt

Not to mask guilty perception,

own mind puts U, myriad question

Whose fingers to grab,

 in tight rope walking

who to help in skill developing

In tough terrain of career,

to escort U through

U’ll find me, right behind U

In d’ voyage in mid ocean,

a float in unknown location

Emerge as pole star, in night sky,

guides U to d' destination, why

if U seem to be utter insecured,

toils to dispel your fear factor

Open up, feel free,
 I'm a friend true,

U’ll find me, right behind U

Drowned in dark, life in turmoil,

no sign of light, unending tunnel

D’ derailed  journey, back on rail,

a ray of hope, who d’ kind candle

Ask your books, ask d’ chapters

focus at your slim fingers,

half carved art still lingers

 artist amateur, needs to mature

  In d’ thrilling cruise,

I’ll see U through

U’ll find me, right behind U
