Let go d’ burden, achieve your goal

Old and young monk walked together,
came to a halt at the bank of the river
dilapidated bridge ahead, how to cross,
d' hurrying river beneath, to wade across
A damsel stuck at d’ maligned bridge,
impatient, agitated, seems ill at ease
Old monk offered to carry her on back,
she accepted out right, it’s for her sake

Picked her up pat, no more discussion,
balanced d' load and steady steps taken
crossed d’ river in single daring attempt,
no worry for d' river or its sturdy current
Evidently great, a startling kind gesture,
junior got shocked, it’s an odd manner
Monk, yet no restrain from such turmoil,
coveting intimacy with d' pretty female
Casually things done, walk in progress,
marched along for hours, but in silence
In mind all kinds of accusations framed,
quietly plodded miles with senior friend

Contain himself no more, he blurted out,
d’ hate tornado built up, made him shout
lastly at a rest point he exploded in anger,
U claim to be a devout monk, since years

Abruptly strayed, from monk’s pious path,
with ladies, ought not make eye contact
at d’ earliest chance, try to touch a female,
a real hypocrite, your preaching all stale

Elder got stunned, it occurred long back,
I set her down, at the other side bank
long hours gone, it’s already forgotten,
you in your mind, yet carry her along

A simple job done, an act of kindness,
no intent involved to make one upset
u turned critical, created d’ bitter story,
compassion ignored, misjudged in hurry

To carry along past hurts,
 fosters resentment
d' only one truly hurt, is yourself
drop d' gloomy notions,
 ignore irksome events
for glee and gaiety,
focus in the present
free your mind, trust your soul
let go d' burden, achieve your goal
