For baffled birds, a blessed corner

On return trip, in winter ending,
asked my friend, crowned king
“Oh my dear mini Toco Toucan,
you naughty South American”

“ U feel it’s most suitable place,
amazing climate, right address?
At Carrera lake in Chile u stay,
Chilika lake evidently far away”

On earth a lovely destination,
weed covered island Nalbana
to migrating souls, offers feast
palatable worms, lavish seeds

Grass-lined lagoon, just superb
away from city, crowded hubs
captivating ripples, silent water,
a crystalline clarity of a mirror

Cool breeze, charming climate
dazzling dawns, saffron sunsets
bounty of earth's natal splendor
allures migrants ever and ever

Visibly it’s an avian paradise,
arrived here varied species,
safe abode to nest and breed,
exotic quarry to relish in deed

Wilfully chose d’ distant land,
as untold guest did descend
felt secured, absolutely safe,
truly a pious credible place..

Free to fly in any direction,
any location, no restriction
No limit lines to put a halt
no hassles of visa passport
Ready, steady, go, I started
d’ flying bird flocks I joined,
A long flight brain boggling,
too adventurous, too thrilling

In d’ beach of Pacific ocean,
did zigzags, up and downs
followed d' tides out and in,
with d' shorebirds umpteen

Had no skills of a long trip,
not sure, if able to make it
my 1st episode of migration,
to a far place, fully unknown

Submerged in d’ monsoons,
reappears in the winter soon,
bird hunting rigidly forbidden,
on earth, a real bird heaven

Biting cold, freezing climate,
pursued d' trip with bird mates
followed the file, no deviation
learned the skill of navigation

Made d' delightful trip to north,
admit arduous, but truly worth
God has sculpted such a wonder,
for baffled birds a blessed corner
