Her coming to d' St Anne church,
seemed
to be a day-to-day affair
hands
folded and d' eyes closed,
stands
before the Lord for prayer
Daily
around a couple of minutes,
as a
routine, early in the morning
with
a thoroughgoing devotion,
non-stop
keeps on murmuring
Opens the shut eyes, bows down,
smiles
at d' Christ's restful statue
spreads
amiable vibrations, when
goes
out running in the avenue
The
Priest observed the little girl,
got
overly curious about her act
too
small to know about religion,
kiddish
to learn life's crucial facts
Would
hardly know any prayers,
but
then what was she doing here?
regularly
every morning, repeats,
suspense
shrouded, nothing clear
After
a fortnight, he couldn't resist,
the
hidden secret wished to explore
her
morning ventures in d' Church,
to
find out more about her behavior
He
reached d' church before d' girl,
waited
for her to complete the ritual
placed
his hand on her head, asked,
my
child, tell me about your prayer
Early
every morning as a routine
last
15 days, you have come daily
stood
before the Lord for a while,
tell
me now what do u do exactly
I
pray, father, she said off the cuff,
the
upset priest unable to digest it
with
a lot of suspicion in his voice,
told,
u know any prayers, do recite
No
father, truly I know no prayers,
then
what u do closing your eyes?
Father
smiled and asked, that too
on
daily basis, a pleasant surprise
I've
already confessed to the God
in
an innocent tone, the girl replied
not
aware of d' prayers but for sure,
know
d' alphabets a,b,c,d….up to z
I
recite it several times and tell God,
of
course, I know not the real prayer
it
can't be outside of these alphabets,
please
arrange these as you require
D'
one that satisfies u, your favorite,
accordingly,
organize these letters
approve
that as my earnest prayer,
oh
my beloved Lord, my caretaker
Told
her heart, bold to d' father, ran,
jumping
her way out of the Church
stared
at d' departing guilt-free girl,
the
Priest stood there dumbstruck
She
disappeared into d' wilderness,
least
bothered for anyone's feeling
d'
unconditional belief in her prayer,
plainly
poured d' Unseen's blessings
