D' Whatsapp retirees group of 15,

planned for a catchy get-together

to meet over the morning snacks,

for merriment, chit-chat, pleasure

 

Also funny talks, music, and songs,

of course lastly a sumptuous lunch

they met, exchanged warm wishes,

shook hands, hugged, enjoyed a lot

 

Had good food, drinks, and dessert,

thanked owner for d' arrangements

d' boy brought d' bill,

too many hands stretched

all wished to grab d' bill for payment

 

A strange scene, evidently created,

with each one fought to take d' bill

manager espied d' appealing manner,

admired d' love and their good zeal

 

Each curious to settle the invoice,

finally one amidst the fifteens said

if none permits d' other guys to pay,

how d' bill ultimately is to be paid?

 

He generated an idea and trumpeted,

we will organize a mini running race

all to take a round of hotel premises,

who reaches the counter first, pays

 

D' manager was just amazed to see,

such a decent and a generous batch

he willingly agreed to blow d' whistle,

d' race began steadily without a catch

 

Retirees enjoyed d' party to d' fullest,

today d' 3rd day of d' manager's wait,

d' brief running race can turn so long,

none could reach the counter as yet

 

No wake up to d' call of d' alarm clock,

no meetings, no goals, nor any targets

unlimited time to be spent aimlessly,

but hard to unfurl d' whole happiness

 

Retirement a new chapter, amazing

for all sr. citizens above d' age of 60
