Illumined, revamped my life forever

Alighted from d' jam-packed city bus,

walked to d' hotel, looked in surprise

toiled hard, became topper in d' class,

dad brought her here as he promised

 

He assured to feed her in a big hotel,

may be d' biggest in d' city, this one

"We wish to have our lunch here bro",

at d' gate talked to d' security person

 

He scanned, allowed them to get in,

she seemed tense in apprehension

a big hotel, packed with the affluent

might curiously look at us, make fun

 

"We'll pay for the food we order dear,

there is nothing to get embarrassed"

her eyes surveyed people all around,

d' waiter calmly advanced menu card

 

He waited for us to place the order

dad, not very keen to check d' card

"Do serve d' best food in your hotel,

its a treat to a daughter by her dad"

"Nothing for me, a li'l potable water

don't mean a bottled one, of course,

routine water from the water filter"

 

"Why sir u don't want to have food?"

"Don't have enough cash for my meal

if she tops in d' class, it holds good,

a lunch in a star hotel was the deal"

in father's eyes, noticed d' pleasure

right away went to d' owner, told "sir,

got a set of poor father and daughter"

she deserves it, being d' class topper

to buy two meals hasn't enough fund,

and have food with his able daughter"

appealed the duo to sit in the front

enjoyed d' appetizing food served

incredible hospitality of top-notch,

thanked them for the notable job

 

After a long period of fifteen years,

PA of d' collector came to intimate

"Collector ma'am wants a meeting, 

to discuss some matter as she said"

 

D' owner now the managing director,

to face head of d' district, turned alert

got down to d' lounge to welcome her,

asked all to stay active, not to be inert

 

She got into d' hotel with her security,

"Namaste", she wished to d' hotel MD

"How is d' hotel business prospering,

and by the by, did you recognize me?"

 

"Of course ma'am, how can I forget u,

you, d' able collector of our district"

"No, I never meant that way for sure,

try to memorize, if you can recall it"

 

"A father assured to carter to his kid,

sumptuous cuisines, on her success

u sponsored a party to d' entire hotel,

warmly celebrated their happiness"

 

"Yes, something like that happened,

guess you're that excellent daughter

you had excelled, were outstanding,

worked hard to build a brilliant career"

didn't ignore, made fun of the poor
