At d' top of her
voice called mom,
found a letter in
front of the door
"I'll come to
your home, my dear,
to see u, your
welfare to explore"
They stayed in
that small house,
only a daughter
with her mother
someone hit on d'
door that night,
the daughter
answered the door
Saw nobody there,
only d' letter,
picked it up, read
it in one breath
her hands
trembled, called mom,
told across d'
length and breadth
God might visit us
today for sure,
daughter insisted
to get prepared
it's the job of some naughty boy,
staying in d'
street in d' backyard
"Playing d'
dirty tricks to tease you,
wrote, see both of
u soon my dear
why God to visit
poorest of d' poor?"
the girl never
believed her mother
Tried her
paramount to persuade,
"I have a
feeling it might come true
be mentally
composed to meet Him,
face d' scenario
and pass-through"
A small house with
a space crunch,
but d' heart
spacious and bumper
took out a neat
carpet from d' trunk,
kept ready to
spread it on d' floor
If God frankly
comes up their home,
what to feed, how
to treat Him then
to cook a meal for
the lovely guest,
pondered and
surveyed d' kitchen
Broke opened her
loved piggy bank,
for buying Rs300,
d' amount saved
a drizzle, cool
wind, chilled d' spine,
took a blanket, an
umbrella in hand
A milk pack, a
small box of sweets
few more needed
items to be bought
walked to d'
grocery store li'l away,
on back home hire
an auto, thought
To be at home
before God reaches,
if He arrives
early might get upset
temperature
dropping further down,
so cold, wished to
unfold d' blanket
Saw a couple
standing on d' roadside,
while the auto
passed nearby them
a kid crying
restively in d' lady's lap,
things not right
must be a problem
Auto reached d'
door of their house,
mom got down,
daughter impatient
paid to d' auto
driver, talked to him
to go to d'
couple, the kid innocent
Saw the baby
having a high fever,
parents had
nothing for it to feed
there d' esteemed
guest to arrive,
here d' weak
hungry child's need
Somehow she can
manage d' God,
pacify d' guest,
attempt to explain
can't leave the
ill child and parents,
God even won't be
able to pardon
Whatever items she
had purchased,
whole stuff handed
over to d' mother
the 50 Rs change,
her umbrella, also
d' folded blanket
for d' child to cover
Came home fast, if
God had arrived,
mom alone, tough
to treat the guest
but found mom
standing at the door,
"a lot of
time u took, turned up late "
Another letter,
here I've discovered,
in part, got
drenched in d' rainwater
struck in
curiosity, d' girl grabbed it,
intricately began
to read it quicker
"My girl, I
got immensely delighted,
u seem weak yet
vibrant and gleeful
packed in kindness
to the sufferers,
d' superb act
turns you too graceful"
"Rain's
efforts to soak the kid over,
d' brolly, d'
blanket hills of comfort
you'll get back
all the articles soon,
along with my
mammoth support"
No soul visible
along d' roadside,
irresistibly read
the letter further
"I am
inhabited in each molecule,
try not to find me
here nor there"
I'm there for all
the needy persons,
also in u, in
your noble intents dear
she sobbed, poured
tear, told mom
"it's d' God,
God only wrote d' letter
